Radiant Barrier Installation

Radiant Barrier Installation

Radiant Barriers consist of highly reflective material. These materials are usually fiber reinforced aluminum to increase durability.

Radiant Barriers are installed in homes and businesses, usually in attics to reduce summer heat gain. In summer, when your roof gets very hot, a radiant barrier cuts air conditioning costs by blocking a sizable portion of the downward heat gain into the building.

Most insulation material work by slowing conductive heat transfer, Radiant barriers work by reducing radiant heat gain.

Radiant barriers are most effective in hot climates similar to southern Louisiana. Even more so when air conditioning ducts are located in the attic. Radiant barriers stop up to 95% of radiant heat gain.
